Characterization of Spirogyra sp. Using Thermogravimetric/ Derivative Thermogravimetric (TG/DTG) Analysis and Bomb Calorimeter for Energy Application

Biomass is usually considered as different types of lignocellulosic materials having varied composition potential to utilize in the useful forms energy a substitute conventional fossil fuels. Algal biomass has multi facet application research and development such source nutrients, biochemical, cosmetics biofuels. However, this newly developed met requirement low medium scale power generation due thermal efficiency. In present study, freshwater algae Spirogyra sp. taken analyzed for Thermogravimetric (TG) calorific values analysis. We found value 2129.4 Kcal/Kg TGA results show that algal decrease rapidly after reaching temperature over 300°C. The result obtained paper may be used future reference material based application.
